My AL!VE! Academy LinkedIn Experience

Nicole R. Smith

1.     Before the webinar takes place, AL!VE gives you the opportunity to interact with the speaker in the AL!VE LinkedIn Group to pose questions that you may have based on the topic they will be speaking on. This is a great way to enhance the probability of a burning question you have being addressed during the session.

2.     During the session, they always leave time for Q&A so if your question didn’t get answered during the session, you still have the opportunity to ask it on the live call.

3.     If you miss the live call, all AL!VE Academies are recorded and added to our members only resource page so you have the opportunity to go back and catch up. So, if your question was answered during the session, you can hear the answer when watching the recording.

4.     If your question didn’t get answered during the live session or you watched the recording only to find that your question still wasn’t answered, for up to 48 hours after the session, as an AL!VE member, we have access to the speaker via the private AL!VE LinkedIn group to either ask more questions or simply continue the conversation. I personally find this to be most valuable.

As leaders of volunteers, we know that networking and sharing knowledge is monumental and having so many different ways to interact with the speakers is not only beneficial, but rare. AL!VE is the only organization that has something set up like this for their members (that I know of). Sure, you can always reach out to the presenter on LinkedIn through direct messenger. Engaging with the speaker in the community, especially while the information is fresh, is ideal. Someone else may have had the same question as you and now, not only do you get the answer, but so does everyone who interacts on the thread. This is another wonderful way to build community and meet new colleagues that you may not have ever crossed paths with otherwise.
If you haven’t taken advantage of the AL!VE academies to the fullest extent, I encourage you to do so. Attend a webinar live and reach out to the speaker on LinkedIn. If you miss it, watch the recording later and by all means, take the unique opportunity to connect with the speakers in a unique way.

The next AL!VE academy is June 24 at 1 PM with Jordanya Reeves and Emilie Bromet-Bauer. Look out for the LinkedIn post to pose your questions early, and interact with Jordanya and Emilie afterwards. It will be well worth your while.
