AL!VE Standards for Organizational Volunteer Engagement
After more than a year of research and development, a stellar task force of dedicated AL!VE volunteers created a highly functional and adaptable set of Standards and an accompanying Self-Evaluation Tool to help you use them. Thanks to Jordanya Reeves, Alex Seblatnigg, CAVS, CPXP, Christina Basey, Kelli Crawford, Donna Morton, Emilie Bromet-Bauer, and of course, Gretchen Jordan, for all your hard work.
These AL!VE Standards are a living document as well as adaptable for use in different organizational situations and industries and by VEPs with different levels of experience. The Task Force has three requests of you:
- Give us feedback about the Standards and the Self-Evaluation Tool (SET). Please use this feedback form. If you have questions or thoughts about the Standards, you can also email Emilie at ebrometbauer@gmail.com. These Standards are meant to be reflective of current trends in nonprofits, third sector, and volunteer engagement. We need to know from you if they are or how we can make them more so.
- Share these Standards and the SET with your colleagues in your organization, associations, DOVIAs, groups, and industry. These Standards are meant to be adaptable to a wide range of industries and organizational structures, so please spread the word and share these Standards.
- Return to the AL!VE website regularly to learn about different ways that we can help you work with these Standards. A very helpful AL!VE Academy presentation in June introduced the Standards and the slide deck can be found on the Standards page of the website. Other offerings in the future may include a COP for people using the Standards and future presentations.
