President's Message

AL!VE Board President Megan Vixie, MPA, CVA, PHR, SHRM-CP

Happy New Year. I hesitate to place an exclamation point at the end of that sentence. While 2020 is now behind us, its remnants are left for us to manage to in 2021.  It is the hope that this year we see a return to somewhat normalcy, but we also will take what we have learned about ourselves and all that is around us forward.  So today, in observance of Martin Luther King Jr. Day and in the wake of the inauguration of America's next president, I just want to thank you for showing up. Showing up for your family. Showing up for your colleagues. Showing up for your communities. Your work gets us through the hard times and provides solutions and hope to protect and safegaurd the good times to come.

The New Year does bring great new offerings for our AL!VE members! Please make sure to continue to check our calendar of events so you can participate in all these great benefits that foster your professional development.

I with you a happy, healthy and safe 2021.  We are here to support you. Thank you, as always, for answering the call to serve in the profession we love so dearly.

Welcome to our new members!

National Volunteer Week, April 18-24, 2021 'Celebrate Service'

Hosted by Points of Light, this year's theme for National Volunteer Week is Celebrate Service – an opportunity to shine a light on the people and causes that inspire us to serve. Volunteerism empowers individuals to find their purpose, to take their passion and turn it into meaningful change. When each of us, in our own way, answers the call to make a difference, we make progress in solving our most persistent problems, and create stronger communities and a more just society.
