President's Letter

Rob Bonesteel, CVA

Every year when Spring arrives I become excited about being a volunteer engagement professional because there a many events that are highlights of our work. Over the next few months, many of us will be planning celebrations for National Volunteer Week, some of us are anticipating the CVA test, and hopefully all of us will be attending the Summit on Advanced Volunteer Engagement (S.A.V.E) and NCVS. What makes these events significant is how they connect, all of us that are passionate about volunteers together. From these things we form friendships, have shared experiences and grow together.

Building on 2011 Success

President Elect - Kathy Cahill, CPRP

At our annual meeting we discussed that AL!VE has been focusing upon three primary goals, the AL!VE Board of Directors and a dedicated cadre of committee members have taken steps to move the organization forward.

These goals are:
1) to create regular, timely communications to the public and current/perspective members that inform, education and advocate for AL!VE and the volunteer management profession.

2) to develop partnerships and outreach strategies at local, state, regional meetings that elevate the volunteer management profession and support the organization’s mission

3) to increase membership and resources to carry out our mission.

In many ways we have succeeded our simple but complex goals.
Read on to see all we accomplished in 2011

Website Highlight - Peer/Mentor Directory

The Peer/Mentor Directory available on the Members Only section of AL!VE website is a great feature to help members search other members useing several features.  Hopefully when you became a member, you were asked to check what skills you have and how comfortable you are sharing ideas.  This feature gives you the option of querring the membership by Keyword search, agency, type of agency, Skills-Catorgory, Skills, williness to share and state.  So next time you have a question and don't know who to ask, look up your
AL!VE Peers.
