Membership Options

Individual/Agency Single Membership:  $75.00 Annually 

  • Individual/Agency members enjoy all benefits and can vote in Association elections and business. 
  • Membership is transferable if paid by agency.
  • Memberships paid by an individual are not transferable.
  • While AL!VE welcomes international members, program and advocacy focus will be US & Territories based.

Agency or Local Association Membership:  $125.00 Annually 

  • Includes two full memberships, and additional memberships can be purchased for $60.00 
  • Full (paid) members enjoy all benefits and can vote in Association elections and business.
  • Agency or Local Associations Memberships are transferable if paid by agency. 
  • While AL!VE welcomes international members, program and advocacy focus will be US & Territories based.

Additional Local Association Membership Benefits

Local Association Memberships are eligible to enjoy these additional benefits in addition to individual member benefits:

  • Mentoring for Local Associations: AL!VE is piloting a mentor program for local associations to assist them to grow into strong, local sources of professional development, networking, and leadership development. You can learn more here.
  • Local Association Community of Practice: Quarterly COP Meetings are held virtually on a variety of topics pertaining to the administration of local associations of volunteer engagement professionals (Dovias, AVA, etc). Past topics have included Board Recruitment and DEAI, Financial Management, Membership and Marketing, Social Media, and Revitalizing your Organization.
  • Discount for Agencies or Local Associations to be a host site for our annual Volunteer Managers Hybrid Conference, held in October. 
  • For all members of your local association:
    • Free AL!VE Academy admission

How We Are Addressing Equity For Our Peers:

We are offering a 'Pay What You Can' option for peer equity for individual memberships only, for one year of membership.  We invite you to visit this page about Embracing Equity to thoughtfully consider your payment options.  Members can also contribute to an equity fund to provide memberships for our peers.  These options will be available for selection when you register as a member.

  • Networking Opportunities: During virtual and in-person meet-ups, trainings, and socials. Additionally connect with other leaders on a local, state, national or program based focus via our searchable member database

  • Free admission to monthly professional development workshops. AL!VE Academy Webinars educate on topics relevant to Volunteer Engagement Professionals.  Content with a BDEAI focus will be presented quarterly that will be free to anyone, whether member or not.  Members can also view more than 75 recorded AL!VE Academy presentations on the members only website. 

  • Emerging Leaders Mentoring Program: Members are paired with an experienced Volunteer Engagement Professional for a prescribed six month mentoring experience. Learn more about the mentor program here.


  • CVA Study Group: The CVA (Certification in Volunteer Administration) is an internationally recognized professional certification.  The certification is provided twice a year.  AL!VE Members can join a Study Group that will  meet weekly for several weeks before the exam period to review study resources, participate in peer discussions, and provide support and networking.
      
  • Speaker Development: Build confidence in your public speaking abilities by learning from experts in the field on how to elevate your virtual presentations, turn an idea into a compelling narrative for training, and/or translating in-person training into an engaging virtual experience.


  • Leadership Development:  Opportunities to lead a committee, serve on the board, or participate in programs designed to advance professional development, advocacy, and networking for Volunteer Engagement Professionals.


  • Career Advancement Support:  Find the support you need to negotiate a title change, a raise or both!


  • Extensive Resources Vault:  Members have access to a large array of templates, resources, archived webinars curated by professionals in the industry  to help you enhance your program without having to recreate the wheel.
