AL!VE engages volunteers to produce all aspects of our work, from running programs and events, to managing finances and membership marketing efforts, and more. AL!VE has been a volunteer-driven organization since its inception in 2009, run by supporters to serve our members.
The best part? Volunteering with AL!VE provides you greater opportunity to connect with peers, expand your professional network, practice current or new skills, and gain valuable experience in leadership and project management within our sector.

Elevate and advocate for the profession of volunteer engagement on AL!VE’s Advocacy Committee. Play a vital role in ensuring volunteer management professionals are recognized, supported, and celebrated across industries. Additionally, help to spread awareness and validity of the profession through legislation efforts. Meet monthly and work on projects independently.

AL!VE Academies provide volunteer engagement professionals with ongoing opportunities to learn new concepts and skills, connect with peers, and strengthen their leadership capacity through expert-led webinars.
AL!VE seeks dynamic, experienced professionals to serve as AL!VE Academy Presenters. These volunteers develop and deliver engaging online presentations on advanced topics in volunteer engagement, helping to strengthen the field and support professional growth.
AL!VE is dedicated to the professional growth and development of leaders in volunteer engagement. The purpose of the Emerging Leaders Mentor Program is to provide a platform for AL!VE members to connect, share best practices and position themselves as leaders in the field through ongoing professional development and skills building. Participants will paired with AL!VE Mentors to receive individualized coaching and support.

ALIVE’s Board of Directors is an active board that makes a difference for our association and profession. Those who are elected to the Board serve a 3-year term, with the opportunity to serve up to 2 terms (6 years total).
The Board meets on a monthly basis using web-based technology. As a working board, the volunteer commitment is 2-3 hours a week, or an average of 10-15 hours a month, including required attendance at board meetings and leadership on a committee or special project.
