AL!VE Announces New Leadership Appointments

AL!VE is pleased to announce the appointments of two members of the Board of Directors: Carol Ayars to the position of Treasurer on the Executive Committee and Donna Finney to the position of Programs Committee Chair. These leadership changes mark an exciting new chapter in the organization’s ongoing commitment to supporting volunteer engagement professionals nationwide.
 
Carol Ayars, CVA, AmeriCorps Seniors Program Manager at The Span Center in Richmond, VA, brings a wealth of experience in volunteer leadership and national service. Carol serves in many national, regional, and local leadership roles as President of her local association, the Greater Richmond Association for Volunteer Administration, and the DC-VA AmeriCorps Seniors Director’s Association. She serves on the Board of Directors for the AmeriCorps Seniors Professional Network and also volunteers with the Council for Certification in Volunteer Administration. Previously, Carol served as Programs Committee Chair and continues to co-lead the AL!VE Academy program. As Treasurer, she will play a key role in overseeing AL!VE’s financial strategy, ensuring fiscal responsibility, and supporting the organization’s mission to empower and elevate the field of volunteer engagement.
 
Donna Finney, Head of Volunteer Operations at New York Road Runners in New York City, NY, has been appointed as Programs Committee Chair, bringing a passion for program development and professional education. With over 12 years of experience, Donna has managed several volunteer programs in the US, including Ronald McDonald House of New York, United Services Organization and the Indianapolis Symphony Orchestra. In this role, Donna will lead efforts to streamline and enhance AL!VE’s programmatic offerings, providing valuable resources, training, and networking opportunities for volunteer engagement professionals across the country.
 
We extend our deepest gratitude to Christi Brown for her years of dedicated service and leadership as AL!VE’s outgoing Treasurer. Christi’s contributions have been instrumental in strengthening AL!VE’s financial stewardship, and her impact will be felt for years to come. We appreciate her unwavering commitment to the profession and our member community.
