AL!VE in the Media: Outlets Cover College of Saint Benedict’s Service Enterprise Reaccreditation (csbsju.edu & St. Cloud Live; December 4, 2025)
AL!VE was featured in recent media coverage from csbsju.edu and St. Cloud Live as the College of Saint Benedict (CSB) earned reaccreditation as a Service Enterprise, the national designation that honors organizations that strategically leverage volunteers to fulfill their mission. The Service Enterprise program is powered by collaboration among the Association of Leaders in Volunteer Engagement (AL!VE), Points of Light, and licensed providers.CSB made history in 2017 as the first college or university in the nation to receive Service Enterprise accreditation and continues to model what is possible when volunteer engagement is embedded across campus culture. Their reaccreditation will remain active through 2028.
“Volunteer engagement is essential to achieving the ambitious goals outlined in our Strategic Plan,” said Valerie Jones, Executive Director of Alumnae Relations at CSB. “We know we cannot accomplish these goals alone. By drawing on the talents and skills of our entire community – students, parents, alumnae, staff and partners – we create mutually beneficial opportunities that support student success.”
As the national professional association dedicated to elevating, empowering, and equipping leaders in volunteer engagement, AL!VE applauds CSB’s commitment to mission-driven service and cross-campus collaboration. Service Enterprise accreditation is earned by only 11 percent of nonprofits nationwide, making CSB’s reaccreditation especially noteworthy for the higher education sector.
AL!VE Executive Director Nicole R. Smith, CVA shared, “The College of Saint Benedict continues to demonstrate what is possible when volunteer engagement is treated as a core strategic function. Their leadership within the Service Enterprise movement is an example for colleges nationwide, and AL!VE is honored to collaborate in this transformative work.”
