President's Message
AL!VE Board President Megan Vixie, MPA, CVA, PHR, SHRM-CP    As it is November, first and foremost, I wanted to wish you all a belated Happy Volunteer Managers Day! I hope you were recognized on November 5th for the amazing work you do and know that AL!VE values your contributions to your communities and to our field!
For any members that are veterans, we also want to recognize your contributions to our country. We continue to thank you and honor you for your service and dedication to the greater good and all the America stands for.

AL!VE's board has been preparing for 2022 and we are excited for the direction we are heading. I hope to see you all at AL!VE's Annual Meeting on November 30th. It is one of my favorite times of year to see all that we have accomplished together and how we are forging ahead in this profession we are so proud to call our own.

And since November is a month of gratitude, I want to say Thank You! Thank you to those who received an Impact Award for leading the way for your peers.  Thank you to our newest board members for raising your hand and answering the call to serve our profession. Thank you to those who just added those awesome three letters behind your name: C.V.A., demonstrating excellence and commitment to this work. And thank you to all of us, who continue to make a meaningful impact in our communities through the power of volunteerism. You are seen, you are valued, you are awesome.
 Stay healthy, stay safe,
 Megan

MAVA Shifting Environment Survey
Minnesota Alliance for Volunteer Advancement (MAVA) Shifting Environment SurveyHelp MAVA understand how changes we’ve seen in the past 18 months have affected today’s volunteerism! Complete their 2021 Shifting Environment Survey to share YOUR experiences – what’s happening with your communities, organizations, and volunteers, as we adjust to altered expectations and new realities. MAVA wants to hear from people working with volunteers in all types of settings, and every level of experience; they also invite responses from multiple staff members at the same organization to help us better understand our changes at the program level. Please fill out the survey only once, although you may receive an invitation from several sources. It should take about 15 - 20 minutes to complete – an investment of your time that we greatly appreciate. To show their gratitude, survey respondents can enter a drawing for a $25 discount on a 2021 MAVA training or event.
Preliminary results will be available by the end of 2021 at www.mavanetwork.org ; a full report, including recommendations for harnessing trends uncovered through the survey, will be published in early 2022.
